How to Upload Photos

Add photos to your family tree to bring your ancestors to life.

Supported Formats

• JPEG/JPG - Best for photographs
• PNG - Good for documents and graphics
• GIF - Supported but not recommended
• WebP - Modern format with good compression

Method 1: Upload to Individual

1. Navigate to the individual's profile
2. Scroll to the Media section
3. Click Upload Photo
4. Select your file
5. Fill in details:
   • Title/Caption
   • Date taken (if known)
   • Description
6. Check Set as profile photo if this should be their main image
7. Click Upload

Method 2: Media Gallery

1. Go to Media in the sidebar
2. Click Upload
3. Select one or more files
4. For each photo:
   • Add title and description
   • Link to individuals appearing in the photo
5. Click Save

Linking Photos to Multiple People

Group photos can be linked to everyone who appears:

1. Upload the photo via Media Gallery
2. Click Edit on the photo
3. In the People section, search and add each individual
4. Save changes

AI Enhancement

If AI features are enabled, you can enhance old photos:

1. Upload the photo normally
2. Click Enhance on the photo
3. Choose enhancement type:
   • Restoration (fix damage)
   • Quality (improve resolution)
   • Color (fix faded colors)
4. Review and save the enhanced version
